Jehovah- Shammah, The God who is there (Ezekiel 48:35)

Today we meet Jehovah Shammah. This is the last name of God revealed through the Old Testament prophets. It means God is there or at that place.

Through this name He is promising to rebuild His Kingdom and establish His presence for our today's, and tomorrow's. He is building His eternal Kingdom day by day through His presence with His people.

This name is both comforting and exciting because, “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].” (Philippians 1:6)  He promises to bring us into His glory, His eternal Kingdom.

In Hebrews 13:5 God said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” This is a quote from Deuteronomy 31:6 and it admonishes us to, “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them (the enemy), for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”

God became flesh and dwelt among us through Jesus, and He continues to be with us through His Holy Spirit who now resides in us, in our bodies which is the temple of the living God.

We understand from Revelation 13:8 that Jesus was slain before the earth was created. He is and always will be. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He will never cease to exist.

No matter what you are going through today be assured God, Jehovah Shammah is with you through His Holy Spirit. Lean on Him. Cast your cares on Him. Be still and know that He is here. Give Him your heart. Give Him your life. Trust Him. He is here.

Partake of communion this day with the assurance that Jesus is always with you. He will never leave you! Amen!

Blessings on your day!

Karen
