Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10)

Have you ever had one of those days where you just seem “out of sink?” Nothing is wrong, but there seems to be something lacking.

Today was one of those days for me.

As I sought the Lord, I heard, “Be still.”

Even though I had spent time with the Lord this morning, I sensed the Lord encouraging me to come and be with Him, so I turned on some quiet worship music and sat with the Lord.

It was a comforting, peaceful time. I did not hear a word or scripture from Him. So I praised Him in my spirit.

The rest of the scripture says, “I will be exalted among the heathens (unbelievers), I will be exalted in the earth.”

Isn’t it amazing that by our being still before the Lord allows Him to be exalted among unbelievers and through out the earth?

In the natural this makes no since. However; God’s ways are not man’s ways. They are higher. Only God knows how being still before Him exalts Him. It is our job to follow His leading.

I encourage you to take some time to sit still in the presence of the Lord. Sometimes He will have a word for you and sometimes like today you find peace in His presence. God likes to spend time with His children. He likes to spend time with you. Amen!

Blessings on your day!

Jesus, the name above all names (Philippians 2:9)

Today we begin studying the names of Jesus. Just as the names of God reveals His nature, character and attributes, so too the names of Jesus reveal the Messiah to us.

The lyrics to the song Jesus, Name Above All Names says it well. Take a few moments and meditate on these proclamations of Jesus.

Jesus, name above all names
Beautiful Savior, glorious Lord.
Emmanuel, God is with us.
Blessed Redeemer, Living word

Father God bestowed the name of Jesus (Yeshua, in Hebrew) with its meaning of “the Salvation of God” on His beloved Son. Jesus is His name, and this name is the person of Jesus Himself. He is the Word of God, and He is the written Word of God. They are inseparable. Think on this. It may be deeper than you first think.

In Philippians 2:9-11 (AMP) Paul tells us that “He (Jesus) humbled Himself by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.”

Jesus is the most powerful name in all existence. At His name all the angels in heaven, all the demons in hell and every creature, man or beast will bow to the King of kings.

Many say they will not bow to Jesus the Christ, but there will come a time where there will be no choice. His Kingdom is being established on the earth, but at His return it will be completely fulfilled.

As you partake of communion today ponder these things in your heart. Then praise Him and celebrate His name.

As a believer in Jesus, He has given us His name. Our name belongs to Jesus and His belongs to us. The more we know and experience Jesus, the more we become like Him. Amen!

Blessings on your day!
