“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!” (Psalm 34:8)

This morning the Lord reminded me that the part of the Passover Feast we celebrate as Holy Communion comes at the place of dessert, after the meal.

Then I heard the following scripture. “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8)

Over the years of partaking of morning communion as I fellowship with the Lord over His word, I have come to realize how the scriptures point to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

He accomplished everything it takes to bring me back into full fellowship with my Heavenly Father. This is what atonement does.

In the Old Covenant the blood of the animals only covered sin. Jesus’ blood washes away our sins. We are made completely new creations in Christ Jesus. He is truly the dessert, the best and the sweetest love we will ever experience.

As I come to communion - fellowship with Jesus today I am meditating on the sweetest and most precious gift of my Heavenly Father: Jesus the Christ.

As I eat of the bread and drink of the wine I can see Jesus’ body saturated with His blood. O that I may be saturated in the life-giving blood of the Lamb of God who takes away my sin.

“O taste and see that the Lord is good!” Trust in Him and be blessed. Amen!

Blessings on your day!

Karen
